THANK YOU FOR SUCH A BEAUTIFUL ARTICLE!!
'After 874 days without my moon cycle, this last Spring while we were in Peru, I was blessed to receive this potent flow once again. Arriving exactly on the Solar Eclipse, I took this to be a most auspicious blessing. Now that a few months have passed I am remembering all of the beautiful ways I can embrace my moon and take this time as a opportunity to tune into my body, tune into the earth.
We want our cycles to sync up with the moons cycles. This means bleeding on the new moon and ovulating on the full moon. Why do you think the energy is so high for so many of us on the full moon? We are meant to be making love and creating new life during this powerful time. Allowing us all to be the wild, loving beings we are! WIth the new moon approaching, this is a great time to check in and see where our bodies are at. Gather with woman who are also on their moons. Create a sacred space that you can all go to and just BE. Remember the beauty of the plants. Herbs are great to work with during these times. I love to use Saint Johns wort, dandelion root, red clover blossoms, mugwort, cramp bark, yarrow, raspberry leaf, pennyroyal and rose hips to name a few. You can take tinctures or tonics with these medicines. Teas are also great and always seem to soothe the soul. Long soaks in the tub do wonders! Add in some lavender, roses, salt and essential oils to really love yourself up. Take time for yourself. Time spent alone in nature allows us to listen to any messages that are wanting to come though. It's amazing the sounds that call to our hearts when we really begin listen. Remember the Queen that you are!The beauty of ebb and flow and the balance of both.Embrace your moon! Its an honor and a gift.
"Blood mysteries teach that menstrual blood and birthing blood are holy blood, power blood, healing blood. The blood mysteries teach us to remember that life and healing come from and return to woman, to the wise woman, to the woman who bleeds and bleeds. And does not die.
Blood mysteries reveal that menstrual (moontime) blood and birth blood are so holy, so full of potential, so full of the void, that they are to be used only to heal, to heal by nourishing. Holy woman-blood is nourishing blood, blood of love, blood of abundance, blood that heals the earth.
Blood mysteries recall the immense power of the bleeding woman. Power enough to share in great nourishing give-away from mother to matrix, give-away of nourisher to nourisher. When we bleed into the ground (in reality or fantasy) our power regrounds as our blood flows through the personal root chakra and into the earth.
Bleeding into the ground, bleeding freely, we know ourselves as women, as nourishers of life, as givers of nourishment to the plants, givers of holy nourishment: our moontime blood.
I am woman giving away nourishment to ensure this planet's life. With my moontime power, my blood, with my birthing power, my blood, I feed the earth who feeds us all. Every month I remember: I am woman. I am earth. I am life. I am nourishment. I am change.
I am woman, blatantly and repeatedly confronted with my changes: hormonal harmonics stirring moon time visions, ovulatory oracles, pre-menstrual crazies, orgasmic knowings, birth ecstasies, breast-feeding bliss, menopausal moods.
I am wholeness. I am woman. I know life, death, pain, and health in my marrow, in my womb. I know the bloody places: the narrow space between life and death, the bloody place of birth, the bloody mess of nourishing life, the bloody flow of letting life go. I am woman. My blood is power. Peaceful power. Peaceful blood.
My blood is holy nourishment. My blood nourishes the growing fetus. My blood becomes milk to nourish the young child. My blood flows into the ground as holy nourishment for the Great Mother, Gaia, Mother Earth. " ~Susan Weed
On Kauai my tipi has been painted red and is now used for a "red tent". A moon lodge where Women can gather together to massage each other, drink tea, play music and most importantly, give our bodies the rest that it deserves. Have you ever just let your blood flow free to the Earth? Another gift I love to offer is my moon blood to the plants. I place my cloth pads into a large mason jar and then fill it with water. This dilutes the blood and creates amazing nourishment for the plants. If your going to offer it to the food garden, its a good idea to add it to the compost first, then add it to the plants. Diva cups are a also a great way to capture your blood. You can find a variety of reusable cloth pads and cups online. Sacred Yoni and the beauty that lies within.
Remember: the act of slowing down, tuning in, and connecting to yourself and other women is how we find the answers within. This is how we take care of ourselves, others and the world. This is also how we teach our daughters to grow into balanced, nurturing and wise women.'
